The United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) just released their first update to the Lead and Copper Rule in late December, 2020.
The update involves more science in testing procedures to identify even more sources of lead in drinking water as well as actions to identify lead earlier in the treatment process.
Additionally, the update addresses three main concerns in regards to lead and copper in drinking water:
- corrosion control treatment
- replacing a higher volume of lead services lines
- better protecting children and communities from lead and copper in drinking water
This new rule will impact drinking water systems in the Southeast U.S. and across the nation.
Aulick Treatment Consultants will be ready to assist water systems in understanding this new information as well as developing treatment plans to control lead and copper.
Aulick is committed to supporting water systems and developing new technology for drinking water quality from the water treatment facility to the home.
While developing our customized phosphate line Aulick’s focus was on:
- Corrosion Control
- Cleaning
- Sequestration
